Since some weeks, I couldn't wait for your new album to come out, after Spotify suggested "Tears". Not knowing it was you, I added it to my music immediately, but there was some familiarity in this song. Being a huge fan of Bombay Bicycle Club, I recognized you of course, your voice, your base, your touch. I keep on falling in love with you...
The first thing I did this morning, was putting up your new album "God First". The intro song, I have to say, did not wake me up yet, but after being shaken up by "Angels" (that I knew already), I got crazy by "Ruby". After that, a rollercoaster of excitement (especially "Grant Green" and "Leap of Faith") run down my body, until it reached a new height, which was truly "Magic".
Even though this album's collaboration with great artists from genres I adore (thinking of Charles Bradley, De La Soul and Lianne La Havas) is amazing and refreshing in your curriculum, I still prefer your own songs. Songs sang by you Jack, bring me back to that nostalgic feeling of somewhat two years ago, when I was listening to your songs in Norway. I can still pick your style out of all others. Please keep producing things like this, please stay true to yourself.
With love,
Gertie
